Life-threatening injuries suffered by Cambridge motorcyclist in crash between motorbike and JCB near Harston




A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision between a motorbike and JCB near Harston.

Officers and paramedics were called to the junction of London Road and Shelford Road, near Harston, at about 5pm yesterday (5 June).

A blue Honda NC750X motorbike travelling towards Harston had been involved in the collision with the JCB tractor heading in the opposite direction and turning right into Shelford Road.

The motorbike rider, a 44-year-old man from Cambridge, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.

The driver of the JCB, a 29-year-old man from Newton, was not injured and remained at the scene.

Sergeant Dan Newton said: “This collision has left the motorbike rider with very serious injuries.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to get in touch with us.”
