There was plenty of free musical entertainment in Cambridge at the weekend (7-8 June) as more than 100 acts performed at 12 venues as part of the Cambridge Buskers Festival.

The festival raised money to help get Strawberry Fair back on its feet following its cancellation this year.

Greg Butler, chair of the Cambuskers Community Group, said: “On behalf of the Cambuskers organising committee, I want to thank all the performers, all the venues and all the volunteers that helped make it run so smoothly.

“It worked particularly well at all the venues based near the city centre.

“The Six Six Bar was rammed all weekend and even venues like The Alex and Cambridge Blue, which are not as known for having live music, were rammed with music lovers on Saturday night.”

The counting of the proceeds is under way, with details of donations via card readers also expected. Nearly £9k has been raised so far.
